Once again this year, it was time to pack your karate gi, don’t forget your running shoes, and head off to the Emeskai summer camp! For a whole week, karateka from different cities and countries trained together, exchanged ideas, and took the opportunity to work intensively on their technique, stamina, and fighting spirit.
As always, the training program was varied and challenging. From the basics to forms and sparring, all the way to sportsfighting and high kicks, there was something for everyone. Thanks to the diverse training sessions, beginners and advanced practitioners alike were able to gain new experiences and work on their skills.
The time spent together outside of training was especially enjoyable this year as well. The summer camp is not only a athletic challenge but also an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new connections, and experience the Emeskai sense of community.
Midway through the week, the traditional tournament took place once again. In forms, sparring, and sports fighting, the participants demonstrated their skills and competed against karateka from other clubs. The focus wasn’t just on rankings, but above all on courage, fairness, and the joy of competing together.
Another very special reason for the Lübeck club to celebrate this year was the belt promotion ceremony: Pablo earned his 1st brown belt during summer camp. We warmly congratulate him on this important milestone on his karate journey! His dedication, perseverance, and progress over the past few years have more than paid off – we’re thrilled about this success.
After an intense week filled with many training sessions, sore muscles, new experiences, and plenty of fun, we can look back on a successful summer camp. Many thanks to all the coaches and participants who made this week possible.
We’re already looking forward to the next summer camp!

Come along and learn Emeskai Karate. The trial training session will take place on 13 September, and the new course will start on 24 September.

Our annual academy meeting and trainer seminar took place in Darmstadt, Germany, over the Whitsun weekend. Twenty-eight Emeskai members from all regions of Germany and Vienna participated, ranging from orange belt to VII dan. We worked on the further development of Emeskai Karate, planned for the upcoming anniversary year (55 years of Emeskai Karate) and trained new tutors. In addition to exciting and productive discussions, there were also practical sessions in the hall. The atmosphere was great and we are already looking forward to the next time and our anniversary year in 2026.

At this year’s Emeskai Karate Adria Seminar in Veli Losinj, Croatia, Master Marietta was awarded the IV. Dan. The solemn ceremony honored new and higher black belts with new Dans, awarded by Grandmaster Dr. Rudolf Jakhel, X. Dan.
Marietta has been practicing Emeskai Modern Sport Karate since 2009 and started training in Berlin. In 2011, Marietta started her trainer training as a green belt. In 2013, she became FEKDA World Champion in Kumite (Sport Fighting) Team and Vice World Champion in Kumite Individual. In 2016, Marietta obtained the I. Dan in Modern Sport Karate and received the Assistant Instructor (X5) license from the MSKA Dan Academy. During her three-year stay in the USA, Marietta trained at Toshindo Karate under Shuseki Shihan Donald LaMattina (Kyokushin Karate). Marietta successfully participated in regional tournaments and in 2015 was awarded the I. Dan in Kyokushin Karate in 2015 and then II. Dan and the title Sensei. From 2017-2021 Marietta built up the Modern Sport Karate Club in Lübeck. Marietta has been in Vienna since September 2021 and leads the children’s and adult training here. This year, Marietta also became European champion at the Emeskai Karate European Championships in Chotebor, Czech Republic.
In addition to the IV. Dan, Marietta also received the Associate Instructor (X4) license, which enables her to award higher belts. We congratulate Marietta on her success.

In 2024, the Emeskai Academy Meeting was once again held in the beautiful city of Darmstadt. During this Pentecost weekend, productive club work was accomplished with participants from all over Germany and Austria. Parallel to this, a trainer seminar took place, where the next generation of trainers was prepared for their roles. In several seminars, the intricacies of communication, motivation, and presentation in front of a group were developed. Complemented by various role plays and lectures, much was learned in this setting.
On May 11, the European Championships of Emeskai Karate took place in Chotěboř, Czech Republic. Master Marietta Zille won the 1st place in the Female Absolute Category. Congratulations!
