This year again, the Berlin club had the honor to host the international Easter seminar for advanced students (green belt and above). About 30 karateka from Germany and the Czech Republic took part under the guidance of Mr. Issa Koité (V. Dan). The main focus of the demanding training was the optimization and economization of the karate movement sequences as well as the deepening of the fighting skills with a special focus on sweeping, clinching, and throwing; in addition to the training program, yoga exercises were also practiced and application tips for special fighting situations were demonstrated. Finally, our Easter tournament took place, where we could again see great fights and form demonstrations.

Successful participation in the state championship of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse
On February 18th, we had the pleasure to participate in the state championship of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. Among the 377 participants from 60 clubs were also two of our fighters at the start. Thomas Ullrich and Jonas Schiffers took up the challenge in Mendig, Rhineland-Palatinate. They successfully achieved several placements in Kumite. Jonas achieved 3rd place in the over 84kg category and Thomas was able to achieve 3rd place in both the competitive class (Leistungsklasse) and the over 35 category under 84kg.

Fall seminar 2022
We trained together at this year’s fall seminar on a total of 3 weekends in the regions of Aachen and Rhein-Main. Besides a tournament in forma and fighting, the highlight of the training was the Dan promotion, where four of our masters received a new belt grade.

We congratulate them on this great achievement!
Easter seminar 2022
It was a great pleasure for all participants that the Easter seminar could finally take place again this year after two cancellations due to Corona. Karateka from Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and Austria travelled to Berlin for our international MSK training camp for advanced students from green belt upwards. As in 2019, Mr. Issa (IV. Dan) was in charge of the training and the subsequent test tournament with about 40 participants; the focus of the demanding training was on fine-tuning the technique, clinching, sweeping, falling, throwing and jumped kicks.
The highlight of the event this year was the awarding of the first master degree (I. Dan) to Monique (MSK Berlin) and Hannes (MSK Bolzano). The DAN ceremony as well as the awarding of the black belts to Monique and Hannes was conducted by Mr. Stephan (V. Dan) on behalf of Mr. Dr. Rudolf Jakhel (X. Dan). After the promotion ceremony in the seminar hall, the participants* enjoyed a few hours together to celebrate and toast the newly crowned black belts.
On the following day, the big test tournament took place, where further masters from the Berlin and Aachen clubs arrived for judging. There were exciting form competitions and sports matches to watch. At the end of the seminar there was a barbecue in the beautiful Mauerpark.
We congratulate our new masters and thank Mr. Issa, Mr. Stephan and our Berlin organisation team for making this wonderful event possible.
